SOLVED: Subsonic and Amahi Server

Good afternoon,

Avid subsonic user and same is /was working perfectly within home network and with remote (outside) access both via WiFi and mobile phone networks. I recently set up Amahi server to mange my network. I have not / not migrated Subsonic to the server and it still resides on my maim PC where it accesses my music library. Since Amahi server installation I can still access Subsonic from within my home network but remote access is no longer working. As Amahi manages the network and DHCP (same has been manually disabled in router) for the network, I expect this is impacting on my remote Subsonic access. Subsonic requires port forwarding for remote access to work which has been done. Subsonic operates as a service on my main PC.

I know there is Subsonic client for Amahi, however I would prefer to leave my set up as i, at least for time being. Does anyone know if there is a means of running Subsonic without migrating same to the Amahi server. My networking knowledge is limited. Any suggestions on possible solutions would be greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

Try creating a DNS alias for your Subsonic installation.

Call it subsonic and point it to the IP address for your machine that has it installed.

That should resolve your issue.
