Need help at the Amahi install commands page. . . .

Postby kvinzant » Sat Jul 29, 2017 8:13 am

First, I can't figure out how to change lines for the three commands. As it stands now, when I put in the first command line, I have to press enter and I get this message: "error": can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/.rpm.lock (permission denined).

I must be missing something. You say put the commands on separate lines but I don't know how to do that. Help please. Thanks.

Are you at the terminal window? Did you do the first command?

Code: Select all

sudo su -
You type each line individually and press ENTER.

There will either be a prompt for more input or the command will display some text.

BF, I am at the window that says "Fedora 25 (Twenty Five)
Kernel 4. 11.12, etc. at the top then "localhost login:" after which I logged in successfully and on the next line I get (kvinzant@localhost)$.

Next I typed in the command as you instructed and hit enter and got the message I gave you in the previous message.

BF, I typed in the second command and got this: "Error: This command has to be run under the root user".

The first command will ask for a password.

Code: Select all

sudo su -
You must enter your password, then you can proceed.

I finally got it, BF. However, now I can't get my dashboard to show up. I have a gateway/router from AT & T and then I have my own Linksys Wireless router. Do I turn off DHCP in both in order for my network to work as it should?

Good to hear.

Yes you would need the DHCP function to be from the HDA.

Can you access the dashboard by IP address?

BF, no, I can't access the dashboard but I'm about to turn off DHCP on my ATT Router and I hope that will give me access. I really appreciate all you help. I just hope I can get Amahi up and running. I was about to give up for a while.
