DNS Alias don't seem to work

This is my first Amahi server, first Fedora server etc..
Everything seems to be working , though I don't quit know what to do with it all ;-)
My question is about the DNS Aliases. The only alias that actually works is my router. The rest seem to point nowhere.
the page I get to is always "The page you were looking for doesn't exist."
I admit I don't fully understand this but my thought would be that the link
Name http://books
IP Address 192.168.1.10
should take me to the same share that works if I go to
\\hda\Books
(file://hda/Books/)

But it does not.

Some clarification would be appreciated. All this is on my internal network, the Amahi server is DNS and DHCP host.

Regards,

See bug 1342 referencing many preconfigured DNS aliases being broken.

No it will not. Shares are not accessible in the web browser. You can install apps, such as pydio App which will give you access, but not the way you expect.

As for DNS aliases, that's for assigning aliases to IP addresses. For example the web UI for your printer is on 192.168.1.10. Adding a DNS called Printer and assigning 192.168.1.10 to it will allow you to access it via http://printer.
