HDA dashboard

Postby keatenp » Mon May 09, 2016 11:28 am

So I would like to get to my dashboard and have tried typing http://hda but it takes me to a website on the internet. I have tried doing the same thing through a windows folder explorer and it also opens a webpage. This is probably a very silly and easy fix, but what am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

No one has described the issue.

What was it?

The problem and solution might help other users.

say my home domain when I setup the HDA was Bob.com. Whenever I went to use an app like monitorix or gh-du, the browser went to some internet site called bob.com. I edited my hosts file as a workaround. I added a line such as (where XXX is the HDA address):

192.168.1.XXX monitorix.bob.com

Then the monitorix app would load correctly. I cannot recall if the same issue was there for the HDA, but I do have a line in the hosts file that is:

192.168.1.XXX hda

At least that is what I understood the OP's problem to be. Apologies if that wasn't the issue.

Understand.

That's needed when not using your router for DHCP and DNS server.

Obviously it would have to be done on every client machine in the network.
