SOLVED: Moving drives from old desktop to HDA

Postby jtoone » Tue Apr 19, 2016 8:43 pm

I'm not in the process of taking the drives out of my desktop and putting them in the HDA. I tried this first with a 2TB WD Green drive. It was formatted NTFS, but I formatted it to EXT4 and it showed up in the disk wizard info. Then, all of a sudden it disappeared from the HDA. I can't get to it through the dashboard, but it shows up under Disks > Devices. Is there a reason this drive dropped off the server? Is there a way I can prevent this in the future? (I still have 2 more 1TB drives I need to move over.)

Here is the fpaste:
http://paste.fedoraproject.org/357575/23378146
The HDD shows up on Line 77, but that line doesn't look like the others. Did my fstab get jacked up?

PS is there a tool (not wdidle3) that will disable the head parking "feature" on my WD drives?

Please try as root user:

Code: Select all

mount -a
There should be no output. If there is, please post it here.

Hard to say. Is there a reason you need to disable this feature? It should not have any impact on using the drive for your HDA.
Also please provide the output of the following:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/fstab
ßîgƒσστ65

Looks like I MAY have to erase the bolded line in the fstab, then try to remount. But I'll wait on input from someone more familiar with fedora/amahi. I'm still learning the ropes for sure.

Thanks for your help!

Yes that appears to be the problem. Also note the mount point for both drives is the same.

Try that and report back if that resolved your issue.

Worked like a champ! The drive is visible in the Amahi drives tab. Thanks for the help!
