Root suddenly full and no hda access

Postby Samsa » Sat Jun 13, 2015 9:06 am

Hey, there,

I suddenly ran in kind of a big problem today.

My server is up and running for several month without a problem.

Suddenly today I got the following error:

The Dashboard has encountered an exception.

Looks like my root is full, and I have absolutely no idea why.
I didn´t do anything, no installation of any apps or whatever, just file transferes on mys greyhole shares.

I can´t access my dashboard or my samba shares.

Plex is running fine.

Root is on its own 32GB drive and all my files are located on different drives.
My greyhole landing zone is on a 4TB drive.
And I have 10 drives in my server witth about 8TB space left.

/home is 128kb big

I already tried deleting log and temp to free up some space, but it wasn´t enough.

What can I do?

I´m thankfull for every hint.

Regards Fe

Ok, I think I might have found what is causeing this.

my plex folder in /var/lib/plexmediaserver is 18GB big, due to the thumbnails and stuff...

Going to save the cache folder right now and deleting it afterwards, let´s see what happens...

The question would be, if this is indeed the reason, how can I save all the files for the plex app on a different drive?

It was indeed plex :(

Going to ask in the according subforum if I can tell plex to save the cache on another drive
