SOLVED: Password not working

Postby tomtheappraiser » Wed Jan 21, 2015 2:48 pm

I haven't logged onto the HDA via my windows computer in a about a week and now it says my username and password are not correct. I have LastPass so I know it's correct. I have changed it.
Any ideas?

Recommend you clear out the last password and enter it manually. Can you SSH into the server?

I don't know what SSH in means.
I can get into the physical server using root, but it won't accept my regular username or password.
I've tried using different browsers to log into the HDA and cleared the history and caches.

Ok. Log in as root and do the following:

Code: Select all

systemctl status hda-ctl systemctl status smb
Post whether they show active (running). Don't need to see the output unless they are not running.

When I type in the first line and hit enter it says "-bash: systemct1: command not found"

That is SYSTEMCTL in all lowercase. Looks like you typed in a 1.

OK, that worked.
Both say active, but (I don't know if this matters) the second one has a bunch of code in red after saying it is active.

Ok. Post what the second one displays. Might be a clue in there.

Hmmmm. That does not seem helpful.

Have you installed the OS updates? When was the last time the HDA was rebooted?
