Hidden duplicates of pictures

Hello,

Just got an amahi server up and running tonight on an old compaq. Works well. It's main purpose is going to be storing photos as my girlfriend is a photographer. The only problem I've encountered so far was when we were trying to move photos back and forth. They work, but sometimes we got an error ~43 on her mac. Also, the picture that were moved create duplicates as hidden files (around 4kb) that only show up when i am viewing the share on my pc. Is this a mac-pc thing? Or is something not configured right? Sorry I don't have more technical information, I am learning this as I go.

The duplication is most likely due to the error occurring during the transfer.
