Hi,

I have a completed Amahi 7 express install (on Fedora 19 platform) and can find the network on my windows laptop - shares etc and have uploaded some photos/movies etc so decidied to convert an old notebook to linux (Fedora 20) but when I try and find the network (GUI) it displays a "Windows Netork" which i cant browse and cant find any other network or server.

It is a typical install nothing changed from the standard install - the notebook is connected wirelessly and the DHCP server is the media server with the router disabled.

:?: :?:

I presume the Fedora 20 is your client, correct?

Hi Bigfoot,

The notebook (client) has Linux installed (fedora 20) and the server is is the Amahi express 7 i stall on Fedora 19.

The server domain was the default Amahi.net and everything is working fine except I can't find the server or shares with the Linux OS notebook but can with a Windows Vista laptop which recognises the network name as HDA.

I have tried //HDA, Amahi, Amahi.net and alternatives and the IP address but nothing works - not sure why but under the Network tab there is an icon that says Windows Network but won't let me access itso I figured it was my other Windows laptop.

Hope that clarifiies

Check this out and see if this helps:

Also have you verified if the F20 machine is getting DHCP and DNS from the HDA?
