uninstalled cups and now hda isnt working for local hostname

Sooo I was looking through getting my printer running with Cups and one of the first steps in the wiki is to erase cups, so I did. After I erased cups I couldn't get to the dashboard, getting the access forbidden error. My ajaxplorer app still works using lancaster71.yourhda.com. I tried the troubleshooter and the first time around got all the way to the curl part, when I tried to curl I got access denied even with sudo. After a reboot I tried straight for curl and get could not resolve host. Went back to the start of the trouble shooter and failed the nslookup test right away.
http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/7811585/ I made the paste bin for the nslookup but not the curl, since the only message I was getting for curl was access denied.
edit: tried installing just cups again...for kicks, got nowhere. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Need more details.
What version of Amahi/OS? What wiki page were you following? Did you check log files in /var/log directory?
UPDATE: I think I know which wiki page you were following. It was not the appropriate guidance to follow in your case I believe. It is only if using the Amahi app CUPS, which is not currently accessible to most users as it's in BETA status.
I have removed the portion about erasing CUPS to prevent others from making the same mistake. Did you notice what files were uninstalled? It may have been more than one.
If it's all the files I see when I try to replicate the same step, you have broken your HDA potentially beyond repair. A reinstall may then be required. If it was only a few files, you may be ok to put them back.

Oh yes, Amahi7. I was looking at the files it was erasing and a bunch of them had 'hda' in their names, it worried me a bit as they went by. I have not checked the log files, would there be a record of what got erased in there?
I should have gone through all the steps before I went ahead and erased cups anyway. As soon as I realized the amahi cups was beta I started sweating. I take full responsibility for that mess up, lol.
I thought that might be the case, but I've wrecked amahi so many times playing around with it I've made up a reinstall sop for myself, so I think that will be less painful. heh.
Thanks for taking a look!

No problem. There is a log that will show what was removed, but honestly you are better off starting over. That will ensure you don't miss anything and it works as designed.
