im trying to setup my wordpress app with a plugin (appointments) that generates an email confirmation when an appointment is scheduled. there are no emails being sent.

Do I have to have some type of email app running on the HDA?

There is no email capability set up on the HDA. You have a few options.

To keep it simple, I would recommend the first one.
