Earlier tonight I tried to log into my Mediawiki to edit an article and received the following error:
Login error
My HDA Wiki uses cookies to log in users. You have cookies disabled. Please enable them and try again.
I did some reading about this kind of issue but before trying any of the proposed fixes, I tried to log into my hda and received the following message:
Application Error
Rails application failed to start properly
As far as I know, nothing remarkable occurred prior to all this.
My control panel shows status running.
Any thoughts about how I can proceed would be very appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down
Some additional details:
I rebooted the server and on trying to access the HDA, I received the following two errors:
The Dashboard has encountered an exception!
Woopsie. Sorry about that!
It could be due to a bug, or very low memory, or very low disk in the root (/) partition.
If your disk or memory are not critical, it's likely a bug.
If this persists, please file a bug report with as much detail as you can.
You will be redirected to a debug page with more information shortly.
----
Then I was redirected to the following:
The page you were looking for doesn't exist.
You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved.
Please report this error in Amahi Forums.
Or if you think this is a bug, better yet, report it in the Amahi tracker under "platform --> new issue".

Don't think this is a bug. Need to do more forensics. Can you SSH into the server? Check the root partition to see if there is sufficient space remaining.

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down
NOt sure if I did this right, but here is a pic. One other thing, I recall from using PLinfo (sp?) which is one of the free Amahi apps I downloaded originally, is that even though I have some space, not all of it was actively available given the way things had been partitioned. This was true on the original drive and regarding a USB drive I'd added later: physical space available on the drives but not accessible without further action. The only other thing is, I have NOT used up additional file space in months -- except in in just typing on the MediaWiki and even then just typed text (no additional photos, or video, files) -- and yet this is happening only now. Hope this helps.
Thanks
Thanks

Looks like you are out of space on /. Until you clear some room, things will not work.

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down
Thanks. Could you point me in the right direction as to how to do this. My linux skills, such as they are, are not systematic. Usually, they come from trying to figure out situations like this. I don't want to delete anything, just be able to access all that space that is sitting on the other partitions. I guess the first question should be - because I don't want to presume anything -- what is the best thing to do?
My reaction is: find a way to reallocate space between the existing partitions and allocate much more space to the partition where I save files, etc., which appears to be "/".
But if the allocations are there for a reason, maybe the thing to do is buy a larger driver.
(incidentally, when I installed a separate USB drive (don't this it showed up in the pics below. Not sure how to access that) I noticed the same thing happened: logical partitions were formed but most of the space on the drive was not accessible to the only partition that I seemed to be able to save files on, etc.)
Any advice on what and how to proceed appreciated. I understand this is basic mechanics, but not an area I understand very well at this point.
Thanks!

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down
What most do is use a Live CD, such as for Ubuntu or Fedora to access the disk that has issues. You can then typically move files to a partition with more space. I usually mount my /var/hda/files to a separate disk to help alleviate issues such as this.
Do you use Greyhole? If so, the it may be you need to move your LZ to a bigger partition or drive.
Unfortunately there is not a lot of documentation in the wiki on this issue, although it's becoming more common.

DO I have to download Live CD, or, is it built into the Amahi install CD that I burned in order to install Amahi? What most do is use a Live CD, such as for Ubuntu or Fedora to access the disk that has issues. Is that the way to mount my /var/hda/files to separate disk ?
Is there another way to reallocate the space in the images I copied above? It seems there's so much more space there that's not getting used.
I haven't installed greyhole. Would that be alternative method to get a more useful allocation of space?Do you use Greyhole? If so, the it may be you need to move your LZ to a bigger partition or drive.
Not sure what LZ is.
Is it possible to reinstall Amahi -- not that I would do it that way -- and choose a different allocation between the partitions ?

You will have to download a Live CD. Ubuntu is the easiest I find. You could try reallocating space using gParted Live CD, but not guarantee it won't mess things up.DO I have to download Live CD, or, is it built into the Amahi install CD that I burned in order to install Amahi?

Best you read up on it in the wiki.haven't installed greyhole. Would that be alternative method to get a more useful allocation of space?

Yes you can reinstall, but you will lose everything and be starting from scratch. It's not Amahi that controls the partition sizes and how they appear, that is Fedora 19. Amahi is an add-on platform that integrates with the OS.Is it possible to reinstall Amahi -- not that I would do it that way -- and choose a different allocation between the partitions ?
If whatever you have that is taking up all the space could be moved to the /home partition, you would be ok. That has the most space. If it's MediaWiki, you can change it's settings to use a different location for the data, i.e. images and such.
You can also move some shares to that partition and then change the path in the Dashboard to point to the new location. Another option is adding an additional drive and mounting it as /var/hda/files so you can keep all your shares on it.
As you can see, there are options. Recommend you check the wiki for guidance if you need it. Most things are there, but for those cases where it's not found we can try to help here.
