OK odd issue now
I run my HDA and two (three counting my partners ios box) pcs on the home network.
From my desktop win7 PC I log on to http://hda/ and get my list of apps (dlna, shellinabox, owncloud6) and can use them per spec (log on to ssh and so on)
From my laptop win8 I log on to http://hda/ as usual (works fine) and get my list of apps. BUT whenever I click one I get thrown to amahi.net and a not-very-helpfull "Why am I here" button.
wtf? Obviously my dhcp and dns are up and running - hda is resolved as it should be, scripts and cookies are allowed with the same permissions on both machines, I am running an updated firefox on both. To my reasoning either hda shouldn't resolve at all on one or everything should work - no middle ground. Only differences are win7/8 and on the win8 I tried installing HDAconnect (but it is now uninstalled as I can't get openvpn to work on hda - for some effing reason).
ideas? tests?
HDA visible everywhere, apps only work on some
Re: HDA visible everywhere, apps only work on some
There are a few things to check. I would check each machine to ensure it reflects the HDA as the DHCP and DNS server via ipconfig /all.
You could also run the interactive network troubleshooter as well.

Have you tried clearing the browser cache? Tried a different browser? These are all things to test.
