Guys,
A friend with a lot of experience of Linux distributions took a look and found that the problem was that the openSSL package had to be updated. Once this was done, Greyhole and Apache started working again.
So glad I didn't have to reinstall.

Re: Web Interface Vanished
Awesome. Never thought to ask if you applied OS updates. Good catch.

Re: SOLVED: Web Interface Vanished
whoa.
this looks to me like a very serious issue in the fedora platform. we must take action to correct this, as it appears that potentially *ALL* amahi _STOCK_ installs that use php-based apps will stop working at some point in the future unless updates are applied.
this is not acceptable.
can anyone help reproduce this? here are the steps:
- install with the amahi 7 express disc
- DO NOT UPDATE THE SYSTEM
- install one app that uses PHP, example owncloud, but others like phpsysinfo will do and be faster/easier to debug
- DO NOT UPDATE
- restart httpd
does httpd restart properly or does it fail?
if it fails, what does /var/log/httpd/error_log say the error was?
is it the SSLeay error?
if it is we have a serious problem and we need to correct it ASAP ...

Re: SOLVED: Web Interface Vanished
I have tried to replicate on my test VM with no luck. It does not have any OS updates and all apps have worked fine for me.

Re: SOLVED: Web Interface Vanished
that is not the latest, however, the one from the amahi express cd is
so, that vm is not coming from amahi 7.1. well another reason it is not a stock amahi 7 is because it's 32 bits.
so i think this leaves more questions open than it answers
Code: Select all
openssl-1.0.1e-4.fc19

Re: SOLVED: Web Interface Vanished
i am confused how the amahi express 7.1 64 bit iso has a 1.0.1e-4 package in it yet a stock vm has 1.0.1e-30.
any ideas on how could that happen?

Re: SOLVED: Web Interface Vanished
Only if when I installed VNC it updated it. That would be my only guess. We could check the Demo machine I suppose.
