Some real newbie questions

Hi Guys,
Only installed Amahi 7 last night. Looking good, but I am completely new to Amahi (and non-windows systems actually other than FreeNAS).

I actually like the Synology Disk Stations and their web interface and was looking for something similar that gave me freedom to choose my own hardware. I am hoping Amahi is a good fit.

Anyway - So many questions will come over the next few days, but to kick off..

One of my main requirements is with regard to a DLNA server. I see that AmahiDLNA is at status Beta (but can be bought for $4.99).
- If I were to purchase this now, do I have to pay again for the 'proper' released version?
- Is there somewhere where we can see the expected release date for this.

The Amahi guided tour mentions many apps that just don't seem to be available (including some other DLNA software). Is this only due to the new nature of Amahi 7. If so - I assume "good things come to those who wait"?? :-)

Cheers

No, once you pay for it you have access for the life of your HDA.

No, unfortunately we work apps as time permits. Some issues are easy to resolve, some are not. Since we are an all volunteer team, quite small BTW, it takes time to get these apps fixed and released.

Yes most likely that is the reason. What apps were mentioned that are not LIVE? They may be on our list to get released soon or there may be other issues.

Hi,
Sorry for late response. I was away the last week.

The main app I was interested in is the Amahi DLNA.

I understand the apps are developed/released by volunteers. You guys are doing an excellent job. ;-)

No problem and thanks for the kind words. We do our best to accommodate. Hopefully we can get DLNA and a few others released soon.
