Hi,
Just installed Amahi for the first time on a clean Ubuntu 12.04 machine. No errors during the install, but after the reboot, no icons are on the desktop to access the Amahi dashboard. In Dash Amahi cannot be found either. I can, however, access the website on the machine (http://hda). What have I done wrong, or rather, is there a way to find the programs and still add the icons? It looks to me that the webpages are not suitable for setting up the Amahi server.
Thanks,
EricJan
No icons after install
Re: No icons after install
You can check the install logs to see what failed. Maybe the network went down or something. It may be a sign that the install did not go 100% properly.
The icons are a desktop link to http://hda (which you can create), one for the Amahi web site http://www.amahi.org.
There is also a link to a "Welcome to Amahi" PDF file.
You can see the code that creates the desktop icons at the end of the install-amahi script you got to install Amahi.
As mentioned, it may be a symtom that your download did not go well, so check the logs and reinstall is there are some noticeable errors. If the dashboard at http://hda is working well, it's a good sign most of the install went well.
