I have been trying to figure out how to install apps from the Amahi app market. There are a plethora of free apps on the website that are listed as stable on Ubuntu 12.04, which is what I have, that are not listed in the app list on my HDA. Is there a way to update the HDA list or "purchase" a free app? I am looking at WebCalender (http://www.amahi.org/webcalender), Home Inventory (http://www.amahi.org/home-inventory) and a few others. I'm also interested in getting some betas, but have already read up on the part of being a tester.

On a side note, why have most of the apps been listed as not having been update in several months to years? Is Amahi now an abandoned project?

Ok, any app not showing on your HDA may not be live for Ubuntu. You need to look at the legend at the bottom right for Ubuntu. If the icon is GREEN, it's LIVE. Otherwise it's not available for that OS. RED is ALPHA and ORANGE is BETA.

Secondly, some apps have convenience fees. You have to log into Amahi.org to purchase those, then refresh your apps list on the HDA and they will appear.

No Amahi is not an abandoned project. Keep in mind some apps won't get updates. They may be web apps that the author no longer supports or there just is not a newer version. There are many apps in BETA and ALPHA status that have not been updated in a while. Some do not work and others just need to be worked. We have a priority list of what gets worked, so they will get attention eventually.

Since Amahi apps are largely supported by the community, many were created and then the contributor abandoned it for whatever reason. I am the Apps Manager and do my best to try to keep the apps updated, but doing the LIVE ones is a full time job.

You may apply to be a tester, but the program is currently off line. Until it's back on line, the only other way to access BETA apps is via an Amahi subscription. You can read more about that on the web site.

Please understand Amahi is all volunteer based, so we only move as fast as the volunteers have time. Hope this helps clarify your questions.

That does help a bit, but there are apps that show live for Ubuntu and do not appear. I will get a list on here after work. I did purchase DLNA, which worked for awhile with my XBOX 360 but now won't work, from the app catalog and it showed up. Same thing with uShare (which won't start and shows Beta for Ubuntu) after DLNA stopped working.
