Copying shares into storage pool

Im sure this has a simple answer that is just eluding me but i have installed amahi and forced the drives i wish to use to mount to my amahi/greyhole storage pool. I have an external drive connected to the server i would like to copy files from into the greyhole storage pool. How would i go about doing this? Thank you!!!,

For further clarification I know that sometimes directly altering files in a greyhole storage pool can break greyhole and I am also aware that storage of files on the drive with Ubuntu and amahi installed on it is not recommended. Can I simply copy the files from the connected drive into their appropriate folder, var/hda/movies and such and allow greyhole to perform its nightly sync? What about the var/hda/drives folder? Would copying files to a specific drive within this folder be a mistake?

- plug the drive
- find out where it's mounted
- make a new share pointing to it
- open that share (this is the origin)
- open the destination share
- copy and paste at will

in a relatively fast network, this ought to be good enough.

on a slow network, then some linux mojo is required.

when done,

- delete the origin share
- unmount the drive's partitions
- unplug the drive

Ah, that's a great idea, so I should create a share called var/hda/drivename and then copy files from it onto my other various var/hda/sharename folders? Thanks for the help, the support for this system is awesome!
