SheildsUp Port Scan now fails

Hi

Does Amahi open a number of ports? Especially port 139?

Earlier this week I ran Shields Up and my system 'passed'

I installed Amahi yesterday ran Shields Up again today and I have warnings flashing left, right and centre.

Should I be worried?

I've done some more reading and it now seems obvious that these ports need to be opened in order for Amahi to do its job.

Is there still a risk to having port 139 open?

There are always risks to having ports open, but depends on your level of exposure. If you are not exposing your HDA outside your network, little need to worry.

If you are allowing outside traffic by doing port forwards from your router, then only expose the ports you need.

Security is overrated.
