Test website
Test website
I want to user the Amahi box as a test server for a website I'm developing (phodia.net), because I will develop it at my main computer but also on my laptop and occasionally on another location I want to use a share as my root directory (in my case /var/hda/files/phodio/phodia) how can I redirect my browser to that location so I can test the website, anybody an idea
Re: Test website
good idea!
use a custom webapp.
you can use your own dir or the default one that comes with the app and make a share for it.

Re: Test website
Thanks, I did try it, however when I wanted to add a directory outside the web-app directory I got an 500 error. Then I made a test and deleted it but then the directory web-apps disappeared, when I tried to restart Apache it wouldn't start anymore, deleted all of of the .conf files which revered to the installed apps in the conf.d directory and apache restarted, deleted all of the apps using the hda, restarted the server and now I'm unable to install any app (I did make a new web-app directory), it is constantly saying preparing to install, is there still a way out
), not complaining because I think it's a hell of a job to make a product like Amahi and I'm very pleased with it!!!

Re: Test website
After some struggeling and discovering some of the secrets of Linux, some may say treasuries
, I'm able again to install apps (owner ship of the directory changed to apache), also I'm able to make a share to my web develop page!!!

Re: Test website
I suspect you may have gotten a 500 internal error due to the directory structure expected by apache for not being there, namely, the html/ and logs/ directories, probably.
sorry, webapps are more for developer types ... there is some linux required
