I see lots of dev work on new versions, so should I wait to make a new HDA and use the latest version or should I install the current version?

I suppose the question is how long is 6.x going to be supported/updated after 7 is released?

Ubuntu 12.04.1 will continue to be supported when Amahi 7 is released. Fedora 14 however will not, so up to you.
