Hi!

You can maintenance your Server using the terminal (=> Putty). In case you want to access your desktop graphically you can use VNC. Loggin your HDA (ubuntu I guess?) and go to:
"System -> Preferences -> Remote Desktop" or so.

Here you can allow others to access your desktop.

As client (on Windows 7) you can use tightVNC if you want:
http://www.tightvnc.com/download/2.6/tv ... .6-bin.zip

There is no installation necessary, but you need Java. Dont forget: The VNC-protocol causes heavy bandwidth usage. So in case you want to access your desktop over the internet you should use something different. For example freeNX.

OpenVPN is LIVE and not Alpha. To ensure you understand how to tell the status of an app, we have a wiki page with the details.

http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/App_release_process

The status is done by OS, so you have to look at the OS you are using, i.e. Fedora 14 or Ubuntu 12.04.

For those in alpha status that you are interested in, they are most likely not finished or not working in most cases. We try to move most apps that are usable to BETA until they can be tested and made LIVE.

We have a long list of apps, but a very small team of folks who maintain Amahi. We are all volunteers and do this in our spare time. We do try our best to move apps along, but sometimes we just don't have the resources.

If there are any specifically you are interested in, please PM me and I can update you on their actual usability. Should you desire access to BETA apps, we do have a subscription with a small fee that many utilize. Please see the web site for details.

No worries. You are not stupid, just not Amahi aware :) In time you will find your way around and things will be easier.
