Hello everybody
I reinstall my Amahi with Ubuntu 12.04 before it was Fedora.
Then I mount my 4 Harddrive a 2 TB in fstab. Now i configure my Storage Pool (See Bild.png)
Then i do this: http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Reconne ... orage_pool
And now Greyhole is filling my hole drives.. why is this? Bevor it was 35% free and now 5% .. ? Whats happend when the drive is full?

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
Greyhole has a recycle bin that needs to be purged occasionally. I am unsure if there is an auto purge.
Open a terminal window do:
That will free up space, a lot depending on how many files you have been moving.
When you reconnect drives, the initial action for Greyhole is to rebuild your shares as they were previously. That may be why it's moving things around.
Chances are if you did not configure copies for your shares, it's deleting all the copies. I would be cautious about emptying the Greyhole trash until you are sure all your files are back in the shares.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
It looks like you have the shares drive in the storage pool. Is that correct? You don't to add it to the pool, only the drives you intend to keep copies on.
Seems like you don't have something properly configured.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
I understand your concern for the data. I thought it odd that there was a gh folder showing in your shares. That is not normal.
Have you checked each Share to see if it is added to the storage pool?
Your data should still be there, just trying to put it in the right place. You also needed to create any shares not present that you had before on the previous install. That will ensure Greyhole syncs with them correctly.
I presume you are looking at the shares on /var/hda/files and not each individual drive. We will get this sorted out, just may need to some more details. Check the Greyhole log for activity as well. It's located in /var/log directory.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
bigfoot firstfuly i would say thank you very very much for your help! It isn't usual that someone try to help so carfully.
Ok look here are my share. They had the absolut same Name like before:
Picture 1 - 4
The different is, that under Location isn't the same like before, so when i click on the Samba Share "appz" then i see this one:
Picture "appz.png"

http://www.bilder-upload.eu/show.php?fi ... 664683.png
And here's an extract from the Greyhole.log

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
No problem, happy to try and assist.
One problem I see is you have your shares spread out among different drives. Not necessary and kinda defeats the purpose of Greyhole in my opinion. Not sure if that is what might be causing issues, but sure seems like an odd setup.
Shares are typically created on /var/hda/files, i.e. /var/hda/files/docs is for Docs share. Now you can put them anywhere you choose, but I would recommend sticking with the default. If you task Greyhole to keep max copies, it will put one on each drive. You can also limit it to one, then the files will be spread amongst all drives randomly.
The other thing I see is you point to /var/hda/files/drives/drive1 for a Appz, but the share name is not included in the path. It should reflect /var/hda/files/drives/drive1/Appz if that is the name of the share. I would not recommend you make each drive a share as you have done.
No reason to make it so complicated. I would keep it simple and put all shares in /var/hda/files and then tell Greyhole to keep 1 or multiple copies. That is more efficient and protects your data more efficiently. Right now if a drive goes bad, you lose everything on it. That is not good.
Does this all make sense? You can set things up any way you choose, but I would not recommend your current scheme. Stick with the basics and let Greyhole protect your data.
