Maybe I'm just an idiot...

I can't get my VNC running at all. I bought the app and followed the directions, seems simple enough but I can't get it to accept the connection. I am using Chicken on Mac and my server is Fedora from the express disc. Help?

Recommend you check out the VPN troubleshooter.

Sorry, I misread your post. Can you check the logs for details. In the /var/log folder there is an amahi-app-installer.log that might help.

I'm not exactly sure how I would get to that...

You can SSH into the HDA and get it or log into the HDA directly.

It is denying me permission to run that log, even as root, I checked permissions and it says root so I don't see why.

Have you tried cat /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log?

Bigfoot, I will pm you a screenshot, everything appears ok to my ability to interpret it. Note that I reinstalled the app hence the install, uninstall, install.

I am also sending a screenshot of chicken with how I try to login. If I leave ssh unchecked it just denies me access and if I check ssh and put either ssh.(theserver'sname).com or hda it asks for an ssh password and I don't know what it is but everything I try it denies.

Also wanted to mention I really appreciate all the help I'm getting on these forums! I'm pretty new to the whole open source world and I'm starting to like it, though its probably still all a little ambitious for me given I've never used terminal based stuff before, aside from a few basic dos commands when I still used Windows...

The password for VNC is in the app special instructions or initial user name/password guidance. You should see this as soon as the app install finishes in the dashboard.
