Apps Won't Install

Postby leis » Fri Jul 13, 2012 10:18 pm

I'm running Amahi on Fedora 14 and I can't any apps to install.

When I click the install button it gets stuck on preparing to install. Occassionally it will say it is installing dependencies but then gets stuck on "preparing to install."

This is on DLNA, Tincan Jukebox, and even simply themes like Agedashi.

What's the best way to troubleshoot this? I've restarted the machine and tried other apps, it just gets stuck.

Check /var/log directory for app install log and see if there are any errors. Seems that if no apps will install, you may have a connectivity issue.

We will be glad to assist when you can provide more details.

I'll check that log when I get home, but I doubt it's a connectivity issue.

The amahi box navigates the internet just fine, and when I click install it goes through a few phases of things like "installing dependencies, etc..", but then get's stuck on preparing to install.

What I mean by connectivity issue is that sometimes the source files come from sites that may be slow in your area. If that is the case, the install script may time out and cause this problem.

There is a difference in surfing the internet and downloading files from various locations.
