Re-set up SSH

Hi all,

I have a (headless) HP MediaSmart EX495 with two drives and I've installed Amahi on it. One drive had the OS and the files, and the second drive was using Greyhole to mirror the files. Recently, the second drive died and I had to pull the OS drive out and edit /etc/fstab to remove the reference to the dead drive in order to get it to boot again.

It's booted again, and I can see the hda from my MacBook Pro. However, it seems the VNC server is not on, because I cannot VNC into the machine, and I also cannot SSH in.

When I try to SSH in, I get this: Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic).

How do I get back into this machine? I need to have either SSH or VNC access. Can I reset SSH somehow?

Thanks!

Ugh. I was doing something stupid. I am in via VNC now.

The question remains, though -- how can I re-setup SSH? That still doesn't work.

There should not be anything needing redone for SSH unless you stopped it or uninstalled the service. SSH is operational by default in Amahi. Recommend you check the user account you are using and/or the software to access the HDA.

If you have any additional details to add we can try to help.
