Fedora 14 vs Fedora 16
Fedora 14 vs Fedora 16
I set up a PC this weekend and installed Fedora 16 on it just to check if it would run OK with it which it did. Then I started looking into Amahi and discovered that it currently seems to use Fedora 14. I also found some information saying Amahi would be ready for Fedora 16 in May this year, so question is what do I do? Is the Fedora 16 version just around the corner so I should wait or should i use the Fedora 14 version?
Re: Fedora 14 vs Fedora 16
I would recommend you install Fedora 14 if you do not want to wait. While we are trying to have Amahi ready for Fedora 16 this month, it could be longer due to complications we are encountering.
We are hoping for this month, but one can never tell. Obviously the choice is yours.

I dont mean this as a dig towards the Amahi team at all but you should know that that May target is new, it has slipped a few times already.
Install Fedora 14 and patiently wait for 16 support.

Re: Fedora 14 vs Fedora 16
Thanks,
I am developing software so I know how those things have a tendency to take much longer time than expected so I downloaded Fedora 14 yesterday and will try it out together with Amahi. I guess that when i have played with it for a while and found out how to do things it will anyway be smart with a fresh install and maybe Amahi for Fedora 16 is ready then.

Re: Fedora 14 vs Fedora 16
Probably a good choice. At least this way you have time to see how Amahi works and will be better prepared for Fedora 16.
Keep in mind that it is very likely there will be no upgrade path. Initial testing looks like new install will be the only effective method to upgrade from Fedora 14 to Fedora 16. We hope that will change, but it's always best to do a fresh install in my opinion.

Re: Fedora 14 vs Fedora 16
But when I try to install RPM Fusion, it won't allow me to do it, because it requires at least Fedora 15 to install it.
What do I do?
Thanks!

Which version of fedora? We abandoned 16 and not started 17 yet.
