Amahi does not resolve like a normal server (i.e. IP address/app), so this does not work. If you are able to resolve http://appname to http://hda/appname, I would be interested to know how you did it. I have never seen Amahi work in that manner.

Actually the DNS resolution is the same as any other server. The Apache server is where it decides which application to direct you to based on the resolved URL.
