Some Questions about PS3 Streaming

Hello,

I installed Amahi yesterday.
Now I am using the following services:

- I deactivate the dhcp of my router so that the amahi box handels the ip forwarding
- I activate the VPN service
- I install some monitoring services
Everything runs fine but now my questions:


1. I have a Synology NAS (Ds 211 + I thing) , can I combine the two devices?

2. I want to stream my music and my movies over my network... which is the best app for this?

3. How can I make my amahi Box safer?

4. Does Amahi has a App which shows my every connection to my network ( Wlan or Lan).
When someone try to connect to the network can I see this?

6. Does amahi has any apps to send alert emails or alert sms?
(SMS would by very very nice )

5. Do you have some "must have" apps for my amahi box?

keep it updated with "yum update"

What kind of alerts are you wanting?

5. Do you have some "must have" apps for my amahi box?
All depends on what you are using your box for. But one general app i think it good for all is linfo

With my Amahi Box...
The synology NAS has a 1 TB hdd and the own system. I think a linux dist... with user management and so on and so on...
Now I want to combine the two devices...

5. Systemalerts like wrong password entering, maybe connections ...

Oh and yum update... can i install a app which start the command automatically?

I can not find MiniDLNA or PSM under "apps"...

1. To share space? For back up purposes? To use applications on that box? All the above?
My guess would be to use it as a backup unit for your data. Could use rysnc.

5. I do not think there is an app for that. But there may be an app in general for it. If you do find one, you can always submit it so they can create the app for amahi.

You can always use the cron to automate things. I installed webmin (webmin.com) and added cron jobs there.

Hey,
no. I mean the Space of the Synology NAS...
I do not want to connect ths hdd.
My amahi box can only use a 2,5 " HDD (Spaceproblem)...
When I want to connect another hdd , the hdd has to stay outside the case ....

Oh Okay. Webmin is an good choice... Or I add the cron over the console:)
