I can access http:/hda/ just fine and my dash board loads - using a computer that is connected to the router that is then connected to my hda-server. I added some applications and then tried to access them but I get a generic cannot find http:// jinzora/. I'm confused because they will load just fine if I load them directly from the dashboard on my hda-server. I don't understand how I can see and use my dashboard but not initialize the applications from a computer connected to the network. Any thoughts? I do not have the DHCP turned off in my router, could this be what is causing this problem? Thanks for any help.

yup, not using Amahi's DHCP is causing the issue.
You might be able to resolve this by setting the hda as your primary DNS server in your router, but it'll still be flaky since you're basically running 2 DHCP servers on your network.

moredruid is correct.

the name "jinzora" is created in the hda's dns server, so if you are not using it, you cannot see it. i.e. you cannot really take advantage of the functionality of apps with dns names automatically.

maybe we can find some way to configure these apps so that they can be used even without using your hda's dns.

I really appreciate the help and will set up Amahi's DHCP as recommended. I really can't believe how easy this whole process has been. Thanks for the fast responses
