I am looking for an app that would allow me to sync or mirror a directory on my Win7 machine to an external HD attached to my Amahi machine. I have the option to either push the sync from my Win machine to Amahi with programs like SyncBack or ToySync, but would rather pull the sync from Amahi.
1. Is there a prepackaged app or a recommended Linux/Fedora program?
2. Any program that will wake-up a Win machine? (I suppose wake on network activity is an option too)
3. Now the external HD must remain NTFS (it will need to be attached to other machines from time to time). I recall reading something about NTFS and Amahi but can't quite remember if it was with Amahi in general or greyhole (I'm not planning to use greyhole for this)
Any suggestion or experience would be great!
App to sync from Win to Amahi
Re: App to sync from Win to Amahi
If you are interested in doing backups, I would suggest taking a look at CrashPlan.
It is not an Amahi app, but it works pretty well. I have it installed in each of my
computers, and have them configured to backup to each other.
Crashplan also supports backups to a friends computer or to their web service ($).
It works quite well for me. It saved my bacon a couple of times, so I would not be
without it.
