Update Question

I have a question about updates. I added a number of additional repository, including, for example, those present in the list of app. This is in order to install other applications (e.g. Handbrake, VirtualBox, GParted etc). Now I always see the icon in the taskbar telling me that updates are available. I am tooo scared that an update would brake my Amahi! I don't mind if my programs are out of date, but I DO want the updates issued by the Amahi team/repository. What should I do and how can I apply only official Amahi updates?

Hello,

Understand your concern. Personally, I think its important to do updates as there are often security patches and bug fixes for Fedora 14. I have been doing them for quite some time and never broke anything.

As far as Amahi updates are concerned, they are pushed automatically. You should always have the latest as a result. To verify, you can do the following as root user:

yum install hdactl hda-platform

That will ensure you have the latest. If there is an update, it will prompt you to install based on that command.
