Samba and Windows Offlinefiles

Postby TMDolphin » Tue May 24, 2011 6:40 am

Hi there,
i'm using amahi 6 on fedora 14. I upgraded a few days ago from amahi 5/fedora 12. To have one of my shares available without access to the server i use the windows offline-files (windows 7). But since i've upgraded the server, it doesn't work correctly. I had additional entries for oplocks/locks in amahi 5 for samba in smb.conf. I also did these config entries in smb.conf on the upgraded system, but i have still the files not correctly synchronized.
Where do i have to change these config entries exactly? (would /etc/samba/.. be correct??)
Did someone else also has problems with windows offline-files and has a solution?
Thanks a lot.. :)

This could be a problem with Fedora 14. You might consider googling it. Changing the samba config files will only help for a short time as its rewritten by Amahi periodically.

I am sure someone in the Fedora world has encountered this and has a solution posted out here somewhere. Since its not an Amahi issue, it would be best to explore the sites for Fedora and/or Samba for an answer.

Thanks for you're reply.
Is there a chance to set some Parameters to the Samba-Config (for Global) so they are not overwritten by Amahi, that would be interesting independent to my problem?
Or Maybe i've to set the oplocks-stuff not in the config itself as global setting, but as additional setting to the share i want to store offline........ .)
Thanks in any case
