You must log in as root with its environment, so should be:

su -

Then do:

yum -y update

You should see lots of updates depending on when you last ran it.

Hi Bigfoot

When i type this:

su -
then
yum -y update

Then i receive a message from the console:
No paketes are selected for the update.

How can i select update? I don't have a list or anything else.. ?

Sounds like there are no updates if that is the case. Once you are root user and do the yum update command, it will either retrieve updates or say there are none available.

If you get anything else, then there is an issue.

Is it safe to run yum -y update on an Amahi box? I thought I read somewhere that you don't want to run the update command as it could break Amahi.

this isn't an official answer, but take it as you like.

You may update your hda as you like, doing it selectively is preffered, but if you want to do a cascade update and it breaks something, it's very hard to diagnose if you didn't do your update selectively. This being said however, I have always done a full update[yum -y update, yes, the same one I was just saying is a full cascade update instead of a selective one] on my hda's and have never actually ran into a problem -ever- due to an update with Amahi. While it is not necessary to update your hda under normal circumstances[I mean honestly now... how many amahi users run a hda on an untrusted network where you need daily security updates...], I can see why some people just want to do it, but I don't really see any valid NEED for it unless your on a bad network with people you don't trust.

I could not see your picture :( I run update on my HDA daily, so I get all the latest Fedora patches. I have NEVER had an issue that I can recall.

As for seeing the Amahi version, from the dashboard go to settings tab. At the bottom you should see the version.

Updates are automatic for the Amahi pieces, so you should be current.
