Hello.

I have been a WHS user for 1 year, and i've decide to leave Microsoft and give a try to Amahi, but i'm really, really desperate.

I have an Atom 330 server with 2 GB RAM, and 3 hard drives (1 PATA for OS, and 2 SATA 1TB for multimedia).

I have installed Fedora 14 and Amahi and i'm having multiples problems with network settings, Greyhole, and VNC. I don´t know what to do, after a week reading webs and forums.

I don´t know how to configure the network server setting. I don't want Amahi to manage my netowork DNS neither DHCP. i want to give a IP, a gateway, and 1 pair of DNS (Google DNS). Everytime i modify the settings he systems overwrite my changes. I've been trying modify it with phpmyadmin, but then i lost the control panel of Amahi.

I wanna add my two 1 TB HDD to grey hole, i've been following the greyhole guide, but the hard disk drive don't make pooling. When i exec hda-automunt, gives to my hard drives stranges names (drive10, drive11, ...) instead sdb1, sdc1,... I don't know how to chage it withou reinstalling.

When i try to connect to the server via VNC, i get an error...

It's frustranting... Every thing i try goes wrong... T_T

After a week, i'm desperate trying things.

It's really hard to me make it function.

Any help, please?

If you don't wanna use Amahi for your DHCP and DNS server, you need to turn them off on the HDA. Ensure you have turned on Advanced Settings in the Settings tab. Then select the servers option and turn them off. Make sure you uncheck the watchdog and start on boot or they will restart.

I want to make you aware that by not using Amahi for DNS, you are going to be able to use some of the server features as designed.

As for the drives, when it mounts the drives initially it gives them the drive1, drive2 name. However if you follow the wiki guidance, when you add them to the /etc/fstab file you can change that name.

Please keep in mind some of these tasks are a bit advanced.

I've stopped DNS server and DHCP server.

But now, i'm having a problem accessing to myphpadmin, because i wanna change the network settings (i want to the server has access to Internet).

I don't know how to access to myphpadmin to modify the settings table to change that thing.

Any alternative way to do this change or access to myphpadmin?
