Xbox Permissions

I just started testing out Amahi as a home server for backups to my computers and to stream movies and music to my XBox360. The problem I am having is whether I use DLNA or uSHARE when I go to the Windows Media Center on my XBox, I can get to the movie folder in hda but I get a message saying I don't have permission to access the folder.
I have set the permissions to all users in the movie folder under shares tab. I have restarted everything and I even gave read permissions to everyone in the windows link.
Any ideas?

Ensure the permissions are set to 775 or greater. This can be done via terminal as root user:

chmod -R 775 /var/hda/files/movies

Hope that helps.

If you are trying to access the movies folder from within the Windows Media Center app on the 360, you will need to do a few more things. You can either turn on guest access to the shares you want the 360 to access OR you need to create a user on the HDA with the name MCX1. (This might fail as I am not real sure if this user need a certain password.)

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try those.
I did find that if I don't go into Media Center I can access the Amahi(uShare) folder through either the videos or music folders on the My XBox tab, depending what I want to do, without any further tweeks to the server.

The DLNA server is far better at serving up media to the 360. I tried the uPnP server and although it worked OK, it wasn't great.

I haven't ever seen the problems you are having either I'm afraid
