Amahi, install on USB and raid 5?

Postby slewis1972 » Fri Mar 04, 2011 1:14 am

Hi

I am looking at Amahi for install on a nas I want to get:

http://www.crescentelectronics.co.uk/hp ... 170bd.html

I want to install it on a USB stick which I can place internernally on the device.

So, question is, will Amahi / Fedora install on a USB stick?

And as the NAS will have 4 drives installed - 3 in the first instance, will I be able to configure it as raid 5 or will the software raid be too slow and hence I should use the hardware raid but thats just going to be raid 1 or 0

Thanks

Not sure. I would expect possibly, but you need to check Fedora forums. Amahi is integrated in Fedora, so if Fedora can do it then Amahi should work. No guarantees and this is not supported. You are pretty much on your own with this type of install.
