How do I install Fedora?

Let's make a long story short. I have absolutely NO idea what I'm doing.

First off, there's SO many fedora things I can download. Which one is the right one? I'm referring to the list on: http://torrent.fedoraproject.org/

Anyways I downloaded the "Fedora 12 i386 DVD" burned it and booted from disk. I went through all the step things, and after rebooting it is asking for a "localhost login" and won't do anything else.

What do I do? I'm trying to follow the Amahi Install Steps (which are NOT very helpful) and I don't know how to get into the fancy "graphical installation" screen that it is showing.

So basically help me start from scratch. I'm a Windows guy, not a Linux so keep it basic, Thanks

Hello,

We thought install guide on the web site is pretty straight forward, but maybe not.

http://www.amahi.org/support/instructions

When you did the install, if you did not see the graphical install screen then your hardware may not be compatible with the default video drivers. If you have a 32 bit system, then you did download the correct DVD.

Recommend you reinstall, trying the second or third option (can't remember which one) that says install with standard video. That should give you the graphical installer and make it easy to follow the install instructions.

Once you have installed, you should get a boot up screen with a graphical login.

Also, can you describe the hardware you are using, i.e. cpu MHZ, RAM, etc? It may be you don't meet minimum requirements.
