Hi guys. I am trying to install the energy saver project as I want to give it a whirl... Yet, when I run the command to install, I get a permission denied error. Permissions are something I've been battling with since the beginning (I'm new to Linux!)

I have used SU and entered the root password, but still doesnt work.

[root@HDN energysaver] # ./aes-install.sh
bash: ./aes-install.sh: Permission Denied

any ideas how to get it working??
Thanks

remember it's very alpha. the script does not seem to be executable. to make it executable:

Code: Select all

chmod 755 ./aes-install.sh

well, as soon as I ran the install script, a message in terminal popped up saying it was powering down the box in one minute... and it did just that! I was on a VNC connection so now cannot obviously connect! The box in the loft, so I'll have to wait until I can boot it back up tomorrow to try the other features.

For those who don't know about the Energy Saving app: http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_Energy_Saver

(for anyone suggesting using WakeOnLan... it doesn't seem to work - I think the machine is waiting for me to log in or something)
