Computer won't reboot after express installation

Hi - Still a newbie, and now trying to install a second amahi box (on a separate network). I am a fan.
First time I did this installation was such a breeze! I used the Amahi Express 5.4 CD and it was so quick and easy.
This time I'm installing Amahi on a Dell Precision T3400 Workstation with a Duo core 2. Went through the install no sweat, then gave me that screen where it says in needs to reboot. I said "OK," and walked away. Came back hours later and it was still on the line that said "system will now restart."
Manually reset it and this time logged in at command prompt to debug. Amahi logs showed all packages installed successfully. I typed in shutdown -r now, and got the exact same message as before. Anyone have any suggestions? My thoughts are:
1) It's something with the Express CD - I can reinstall fully, but like the idea of the Express CD since it will be headless anyway. Willing to try this though if anyone will think it will help.
2) It's something with Fedora. Not sure what to do here.
3) It's something with the Dell computer. Couldn't find any options in the BIOS to suggest that you couldn't do a soft restart on it. Previous to putting the Express CD in, I had XP Pro on it - would shutdown and restart without any trouble.
Thank you!!! Any ideas much appreciated - I am flailing around in the dark.
