Moving the Server

So I just bought a house and I'll be moving shortly. I will obviously want to move my server to my new house, but my question is will I need to reinstall Amahi for the new house?
I seem to remember something about having to do that because it does the DNS or DHCP work instead of the router. I will be using the same ISP but I will have a new modem and router.
Thanks!

In my opinion, Amahi is independent of router/location, unless you have a static IP (I guess that's not the case). Just disable the DHCP server of your new router and plug Amahi in. It should broadcast your IP and you will be good to go. I apologize in advance if this is not correct info, since I have no experience in changing the router.

Hmm, ok, I thought I had read that you had to reinstall to set it up for the new router, but if not that will be awesome. I guess I'll just give it a try and see what happens
Thanks.

you might have to change the new routers' internal IP address to match that of your current Amahi setup (this is easier than changing your whole Amahi network config).
but basically that's all yes.

Well that's easy, I'm not sure where I got the idea in my head that I had to reconfig Amahi.
Thanks guys!

So, how did it go? Any problems?

Hmm, I completely forgot to update this thread :headdesk:
Well I can access all of my files just fine through \\hda however I am unable to access the dashboard. When I try to go to
http://hda/ I get the following error:
Code: Select all
You were looking for "hda" but that domain is not on this server.
Apache/2.2.9 (Fedora) Server at pipe.vern.com Port 80
I assume it's a problem with my DNS, but I'm not sure what.

Have you disabled DHCP on your router?
Are your clients getting their DNS services from your Amahi server?
ipconfig /all from the command line.

I think I disabled it. I got a little bit lost in my router and I'm not 100% sure I disabled the DNS and DHCP on the router.
When I run ipconfig the DNS suffix is home.com.

That would mean that you are getting your dhcp lease for Amahi.
From the servers console, can you connect to the dashboard?
