How to restart Fedora over VNC

Hi

I would like to restart Fedora over VNC.

But the only (over VNC) option I have (in Fedora) is Shutdown which waits 60 seconds and then ends my VNC without actually shutting down the system!

Any help appreciated (so that I can stay on the couch)
Peter

Hello,

Not sure if you are aware, but the dashboard has a reboot and shutdown option. Go to settings and you should see the two buttons there. Works well too.

Thanks

The reboot option in the dashboard worked nicely

I am still interested to know how to do this using VNC though

in vnc: open a terminal and type "shutdown" or "init 0"

Will it do a restart?

no, for that you have to type "reboot" or "init 6"

Or just open a term and then type su. Then password. Then "reboot".
