I am a newbie to Amahi. I find the wiki very helpful as is it simple and easy to use and does answer your questions. But something I don't understand is the HDA button on the dashboard that show the options “Files | Images | Audio | Video”. It is documented on the Dashboard Design wiki page as the “Show shares”, but is not explains very well and I can't find more information on it. Neither does it match the Setup Shares “Books, Docs, Movies, Music & Pictures”. Can someone please explain this a bit more to me? I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Yes, that is the one screen. By default mine was mapped to /var/hda/files/pictures for Pictures for instance. Now look at the HDA button between Home, Search Box & Web (at the top of the dashboard). What is that for? Mine does not show the Share Locations. So I don't know what it is for.

If you type something in the search box and click the HDA button, it will search your HDA shares. If you type in something in the search box and click on the web button, it will do a google search. Am I getting closer to answering your question?

Thanks for the reply gjc1000 and you have the correct button, but the HDA button does not seem to search the Shares on my machine.

On my HDA (see screen print) there are 4 categories where nothing was found: “Files | Images | Audio | Video”.

My Shared (by default) is mapped to “Books, Docs, Movies, Music & Pictures”. This is where Gallery2 & AmahiTunes stores my music and photos. And this works.

Therefore I still can work out what the HDA button does.

this may be a bug. this area has not worked very well, historically.
