Will be interested to see if that makes a difference. When I installed mine, I set a root password, created a user with password, and made it an administrator.

I have had no issues. Please let us know how it goes.

How long is your password? Does it contain spaces or special characters?

This time around, the user (admin) password is only 4 characters, no spaces/special, root is 8 characters no spaces/special. I am banging my head against the wall on this one. :?

I am out of ideas myself. Please submit a Bug report. Maybe our lead developer has some ideas.

Hi, if you get a resolution for this issue please ensure that you post the reason/solution, I have basically given up after reinstalling amahi more times than I care to remember. Looks like an idea product for the job I want it to do.

Request you also submit a Bug report. This is the best way to get it sorted out.

Hi

After subsequent re installs I now have a different problem(s)

1. My control panel is showing "Waiting Install" even though I can log in with my username ans password now. I can also access the HDA folders/files for Internet explorer, it allows me to log in

2. I can no longer log in using the browser and htp://hda but can log in using my HDA IP address

2. In one of the many troubleshooters it asks me to enter "nslookup" into SSH but it tells me the command doesn't exist, I didn't have this trouble before - it worked

3, When I run nslookup hda from cmd in windows I get 208.115.201.197 instead of, I think it expects either 192.168.1.1. or 192.168.1.10

I saw three things in forum posts somewhere which I haven't seen anywhere in installation or troubleshooter guides

1. was with regard to updating the OS after install

2. Minimum install - never saw this in the installation guide

3. Changing user name or nickname on new installs

It seems like every time I do a fresh install, I end up with different problems, some of the previous ones solved and other that worked before but don't work on the new install

Regards

I'm still trying to resolve some of these issues

I'm running
yum install net-tools bind-utils and I get the message "Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit..."

and I have not idea what my "Add your home server's domain name (eg. home.com)" is, so I can add it to the Control Panel

Did you followed the Amahi install guidance? Have you checked the troubleshooting guidance in the wiki?

Reinstalling over and over is not the right solution to fix your problem. We cannot assist if we don't solve one problem at a time. Please start over and let's try to resolve one install vs many.

Yes I have followed the Installation Guide and I have opened and followed many troubleshooting pages in the wiki

This is where I'm at at the moment

I have reloaded Amahi following the installation guide - I have my laptop sitting next to the install so I can follow each step religiously. PS I only have 1 screen for my desktop so need that for the install

Having done the install and rebooted my desktop and laptop (and the Amahi server of course)

My Control Panel (amahi.org\users) is showing "Waiting install"

I can access HDA thru 192.168.1.10 (and log in) on my desktop but not with http://hda - but hda works on my laptop for some reason??????

I can access the HDA folders and files in Internet Explorer "Network" section with my username and password

When I follow the Interactive Network Troubleshooter and I get to the stage where it asks to enter "nslookup hda" I get error code 127, command not found. I tried to install it but am not sure I entered the right command prompt.
I hope that that is enough information for the moment

regards

I should of added that my Desktop is W7 64 bit and my laptop is W7 32bit

On my last 2 load (including this one) I haven't received the email regarding a successful load
