I have not installed updates. I just downloaded the express cd last week and installed then.
I don't know how to do updates from the command line.

Ok, you might want to learn some basic linux commands. Will make things easier in the long run.

As root user, do:

Code: Select all

yum update
You can then follow the prompts from there.

That's funny you should suggest that. I'm watching videos right now on introduction to Linux. Hopefully I'll start to get some of this down.
I learned about this through a Lifehacker article which said this is really easy to use and you don't need to know linux...apparently they were wrong :)
Anyway, it is updated now.

Knowing Linux and some basic commands are two different things. Most of the time you can find answers in the Amahi wiki..

What have you done since it last worked? CAPS lock is off right?

Caps Lock is off.
I've made sure that I'm using the correct capitalization in the correct place as well.
The only thing I've done since installing and being able to access the HDA via my windows 8.1 computer is turned off the server. It hasn't been running for the last week or so.

Ok. That should not have caused any issues. I presume you can get to the dashboard. User name and password does not contain spaces, correct.

Unfortunately there is no password reset in Amahi 7. Will have to think what else to check.

Ok, I think I have a fix for your issue. I have added some guidance in the reset Amahi password wiki article.

Hope this works for you. I have tested it and worked perfectly for me.
