ok listen.
When i use this Path /var/hda/files/ ... then amahi uses my System drive also as data drive right?
Or Only this drive i put in the Storage Pool?
Yes it makes sense. But i don't know what to to right now. Can i rename all this Location and restart greyhole or how can i say greyhole, that i don't duplicate everything and filles my harddrives.. now all my disk are 7% free..
Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
What I recommend you do is update the path for all your shares to be /var/hda/files/sharename. Then configure each on in the Dashboard to use Storage Pool and decide on how many copies.
Are you share folders on each drive? If so, you can move their contents to the same folder name on /var/hda/files. Then remove it from the other drive after confirming they are all in place. Tell Greyhole to store max copies for that share and it will store copies on each drive in the /gh folder.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
ok thank you i understand what you mean.
And now the tricky thing, how i can copy my files from /var/hda/files/drives to /var/hda/files/<Appz e.g.>
because the data are in all 4 drives.
The Problem is that my drives are full now. Can i go to /var/hda/files/drives/drive1/gh/... Then here all the data copy to the new place
e.g. if there
/var/hda/files/drives/drive1/gh/Filme
/var/hda/files/drives/drive1/gh/Appz
then this to
/var/hda/files/Filme/
/var/hda/files/Appz/
And bigfoot when i Use the path /var/hda/files/ then the System Drive is filled up with data, and that is not what i want. I only want data on my 4 HDDs and not on the drive where Ubuntu runs.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
Yes, that should have all your files if you are using Greyhole to make copies. Your OS drive will only fill up temporarily. Once you add the shares to the storage pool and select a number of copies, the original shares will be come symlinks.
So on the OS drive, /var/hda/files/sharename that is managed by Greyhole will contain a symlink to one of the other drives /gh folders with the actual file. Thus your OS drive will not be filled up.
Hopefully your OS drive is big enough to handle the load or you may need to move one share at a time.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
That is possible, but once Greyhole processes it the 20GB will be MB vs GB. You might want to review this info in the wiki.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
Very interesting.
Now this question:
Is it possible to split a 2 TB harddrive with 2 Partition: One is for the Landingzone and the other for the Storage Pool
or is this not a good idea?

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
You can do that if you choose. If the drive goes bad, you will lose your landing zone though.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
But its no problem to rebuild the Landingzone right?
When this Harddrive crash. then i replace it and set the "Location" in amahi to the new Harddrive and greyhole will use this harddrive as lz.

Re: Greyhole is filling my Harddrives
You can move the LZ anywhere you like as long as it's big enough to hold your workload.
