Hi,

It really does not matter much what you run Amahi on top of. As long as your performance needs are met (and even virtualization is very decent these days, performance-wise), you should be OK.
My HDA: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz on MSI board, 8GB RAM, 1TBx2+3TBx1
