Hi, i’m a complete newb re amahi / linux but experienced windows user.
I'm building my own nas/ server - mostly for media. Will use plug-ins (eg LMS for my music).
1 smallish disk for the software plus 2 x 3tb disks for my files.
I want to run the server software / plug-ins etc on 1st disk and copy files onto other disks - I manage what goes where.
No redundancy required – just simple file storage.
In the event that hardware fails (eg motherboard or 1st disk) I can then transfer the "storage" disks to another box and/ or re-install the server software – and / or the disks can be read by some other software.
Is this possible with Amahi ?
Big thanks in advance.
Can I use Amahi like this?
Re: Can I use Amahi like this?
Yes. It works just like any server, except there is a nice web UI front end and prepacked applications available as a one-click install. Is this possible with Amahi ?
There are some advanced steps required to mount hard disks and move shares to those drives, but the wiki has lots of help.
Ensure you follow the guidance at http://docs.amahi.org to install the latest version, Amahi 9 on Fedora 23.
