Hi, total newbie here.
I have installed amahi 8/Fedora 23 and got it going, networked, installing apps etc with one ssd boot drive.
I then installed greyhole and added 3 more drives (ntfs 1TB, 3TB and 8TB with some data on them).
I created a drive pool but realised that I am unable to read the existing win files on the drives.
I have thus decided to remove the drives and to move the data, then to reinstall the drives and then migrate the data back to the drives. I have unmounted the 3 extra drives, moved the LV back to root drive but I can't boot after unplugging the drives.
Any suggestions most appreciated?

Did you remove the drive entries from /etc/fstab?
BTW, Windows file system is permissible in Linux. You may need to install additional dependencies/change the drive info when mounting them but it does work.

No I hadn't as I was worried I'd cause a bigger problem.
I have now removed drives from /etc/fstab and am able to boot
Thank you. Much appreciated.

Yes, I have read that but I can't find what these "dependencies" are and where to download them nor how to change the drive info when mounting. I have spent many hours searching online but as a total newbie It's hard to know what questions to ask to get a good search result. I'll keep trying though as in general I feel excited about the options offered by Amahi
Any link suggestions would be gratefully received.

The dependencies are listed in the adding a second hard drive to your HDA wiki guidance.
When mounting the drive, the type is must be set to correctly as well. This is considered advanced and might be best if you use the disk-wizard App.

Yes I did try that method as shown on that page and chose the "not to format" options but after using "hda-diskmount" I got the error message "no usable linux, windows or mac partitions found on you disks" I've used the instructions on that page to re-add one of the drives, choosing to format this time and the process worked seamlessly.

I did also use that app for my first and subsequent attempts but it appears I didn't use it correctly as I couldn't see any of the win files ...User error again I think. I'll start migrating data to mounted drives, then pool all my drives except the boot drive.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Can't boot after removing hdds ...
Glad to hear you are getting it sorted out.
If there is nothing else, I will mark this as solved.
