View sub folders on TV/XBOX etc

I have created subfolders in my movies share to help organize all my movies. This works fine when viewing on the computer, however I don't see these folders when accessing my dlna server through another device such as a smart tv or xbox one. I'm not sure why, maybe it is a limitation of the viewing device?
Any help is appreciated.

Ensure the permissions are set correctly on the share. There is an icon in the dashboard for each share to reset permissions.

If that does not work, then it might be device limitation.
